Founded in 1967, Shangshang focuses on wire and cable research, manufacture and service. It supplies renewable energy, power transmission and distribution, construction, mining, industry, rail, airports and marine projects.

The company develops power cables and specialist cables for demanding applications, including nuclear installations, port machinery and new energy vehicles. Its research infrastructure includes an enterprise technology center and postdoctoral research station.
